Conformance audit — universal documentation standard (CVN-N014-EC-S17)¶
Audit of the active non-diagnostic Epics (committee Q4: EA/EB/EC/ED + N003/N008) against ADR-0101 Inv 1 (artifact set + epic doc + nav). Sizes the legacy backlog → phased roadmap. This is a sizing audit, not a promise to remediate all of it in S17 (active-Epics discoverability first).
Method¶
Read-only check (2026-06-05): for each active non-diagnostic Epic — epic doc present? mkdocs nav entry? — and a per-Story spot-check for the substantial-Story artifact set (hub · plan · architecture · runbook · test strategy).

Finding A — epic discoverability is now complete for all active N014 Epics (CVN-N014-EC was the only gap; fixed here). CVN-N008 is documented at Need level but its Epics (CVN-N008-EA…) lack epic docs → roadmap item.
Story-level artifact set (Inv 1, Story row)¶
Finding B — the large backlog is per-Story artifacts. Non-diagnostic Stories generally have a plan dossier (under reviews/) but no hub, architecture, or test_strategy. Only two non-diagnostic Stories carry the full set today:
- CVN-N014-ED-S01 — full set (backfilled in PR #1113, the reactive trigger for this Story).
- CVN-N014-EC-S17 — this Story (dogfood; full set produced here).
The ~30 closed non-diagnostic Stories across EA/EB/EC/ED/N003 are plan-only. Retrofitting the full set to closed Stories is low value (the work is done, the plan captured the design) — so the roadmap treats them as lightweight / waiver, not full-set targets.

No blanket retrofit. Enforcement (ADR-0101 Inv 5) bites on new substantial work and gate-advancing open Stories — not unrelated PRs or closed history. Waivers (rationale · owner · expiry · approval) cover the legacy plan-only Stories as a policy decision.
Acceptance¶
Active-Epic discoverability conformant except CVN-N008 (→ P1). Per-Story full-set backlog sized and triaged (P2 gate-time / P3 waiver) rather than promised wholesale.
